P. S. E.& G. DAY SHIFT

on wednesday the 20th the group from P.S.E. & G. went fishing. the fishing was a bit slow but the action was just fine. doug brown ( browine ) caught his big flounder to make everyone want to jump back into the game, it was a nice 22" flattie. now when i say everyone wanted to jump back into the game it was not quite all that wanted to. you see dallas and larry were , well lets just say they wanted to jump over. it appeared that they had a reaction to the sea conditions, sleep and a good burp was all they wanted. the trip was good with some croakers, and blues on the plate as well as a few fluke. guys keep that puff of steam going on the upper bay for all to see. thank you for a great day.

FISHING AND FISHING

well lets start off with what has been happening with fishing, then what i screwed up. last week i said croakers, croakers, croakers. this week it is where are the croakers. after wednesday the fish turned tail and ran away. this made for a long week and weekend to say the least. some small blues moved in and small croakers moved in as well. we are seeing some king fish and blow fish each day, that is a bit different. the flounder fishing is doing what it does best , slow. every day we keep a few flatties. remember flounder fishing ends on september 7. rose from mantua with the help from her coach and husband rick did keep 2 nice 19" flounder last week. on the same day 12 year old adriana shipp and her dad james came down to enjoy a father daughter day on the bay, to adriana surprise she won the pool with a nice 22" fluke. way to go adriana. big jim dooley caught his monster fluke and the released it back to the bay, it was all of 8". NICE now for my screw up i lost a bunch of names that you gave me, that was the holdup in putting this up. if you see your picture and e - mail me your names i will include them. i know it was the guy that was getting married on saturday and his fine family from s. carolina. i hope you did it, you know the thrid ring of marriage, suffering. then their was terri who came down to enjoy the day with her daughters i remember one is britney and the other starts with the letter a. i know no big drum was caught terri but i hope you and your girls had a good day. then their was the group with karen my long lost friend from mr. colts, their is so much to be said here and i lost all your names. then their is the 3 from some place near redding pa. a small town, nope do not have your names, but you guys caught some blues and croakers and a shark. oh yea their is more the father and son team that caught the big flounder in the port corner, yep i lost your names as well. please send me your names so i can post it with your pictures.as of this wednesday it remains the same with fishing. some days are better than others. ok i did receive some updated info . the fine family from s. carolina is larry, josh, daron, lil randy, and big randy, guys thanks for the info. also terri's daughter who starts with the letter a is ashley. sorry ashley i will not forget again.

DAY FISHING CROAKERS CROAKERS

the first of this week was a bit slow with people so we tried anchoring up a bit inshore. this produced some fish that we have not seen for awhile. that's right the elusive trout. an monday the 11th one of the mates teachers came down to go fishing. without knowing who she would run into she wound up where buck hangs his hat all summer. nancy did get lucky because buck is in Florida at this time. nancy and her dad jim did have a good day. tayo was in the house. he caught some nice trout, bluefish, and croakers. way to go bro, we let joey know. now for the other news of the week on wednesday we went for a ride, in serch of croakers. that is what we found nice big, fat croakers. it was not a problem to catch your box full if that is what you wanted. sam leiberman from phila. filled a 5gal bucket with no problem. sam i knew you could do it. on thursday the bridge boys came down and put on a expo of their own. pepe you missed one hell of a day, you might have caught one of your own fish, next time perhaps. socks and family arrived on the scene today. i will tell you this socks knows the days to pick, a few years running he knows when the croaks will arrive. socks it was great to see all of you thanks. so it seams that the next few days croakers will be the main stay of the day. they are a few miles down the bay, so as long as the turn out stays up we will make the trip. now is the time to catch the croaker fever.

SOLID ROCK

as the years go by you have the chance to met a lot of different people. this group is just what the name is solid. bill lead this group to a great night. two weeks ago the weather was not the best so they all deiced to move their trip to another evening. they could not have planed a nicer night. the weather was great. the fish however were missing out on all the fun. jerry tried with all his might to get the fish active, but even with his new best friend nick, it came up short. some blue fish were caught and a few trout were caught as well. bill kept a watchful eye on things and oversaw the crabbing. jerry and nick kept the herring action hot so the visiting team returned with fish. what lacked in fish was greatly made up by every ones charm and good spirit. bill, shiela, jerry, tammy, brian, chris, kevin, and chris it was nice to talk with you, and to everyone on the boat thank you for a nice night.

VALLEY FORGE VOL. FIRE

ok, so the valley forge vol. fire dept. went fishing, sounds hot. well it was. the action was good all day and the fishing was just as good. the flounder story was the same as it has been all year with the bulk of the fish returning to the bay in which they came. some blue fish were also landed. the guy with the beard (rich) caught a nice fat flounder to take home. mrs lance (jaci) also keep her big ol flattie . i am sure lance ate well that night. but the strange and unusual fish of the day came from the chief. chief rick strategically placed his fishing rod in the correct spot ( of course capt. joe jr. directed the placement ) and used the age old method of fishing, set it and forget it. chief rick was surprised when he finally was able to real in a nice cobia. the sad part was it was to short. the chief is used to hearing that it is to short so without any questions he returned it back to the bay. other than that their is a dent in the beer inventory and all is well. thank you for the job that all of you have volunteered to do, and stay safe. thank you all for a great day on the bay. we look forward to the second annual fishing trip.

DAY FISHING

this past week was a bit slower than time past. on thursday we were blinded by the weather man with his 5 - 10 kt nw wind. NOT more like 20 - 25kt but at least they got the nw part correct. a few flatties were caught and a few blue fish. small croakers and spot moved in to provide fresh cut bait. terri and dan came down to catch a few and that they did. while dad did his blue fish thing mate chris showed terri how drum fish were caught. she tackled a 15lb pup on her own, way to go. the jim pettey group came down and survived the winds, hope you all had a nice day and nice to see you again jim. another group can say i was their the boys from MSL machine went fishing. among them was 82 year young bob. one thing i can say about bob is that their is never a dull moment when he is around. thank you guys. the last thing is harry adams did it again, yes number 4 for the year. his 19 1/2" flounder won the pool. other than that looking forward to another week of delaware bay fishing.

OLD GROUNDS TRIP

the wind was strong, and the will was mighty. the first trip to the old grounds happened on wednesday the 6th. at 4:30 am their was a stiff breeze from the sw and i overheard one hearty fisherman say "when he gets to the mouth of the bay he will turn back" well, well that could not have been more WRONG. the wind dropped out and the seas were flat calm. of matter of fact it was a bit to nice. when we first arrived on the grounds the drift was .09kt that was enough to work with. then the drift went to .o2 or less, that was a bad thing. big daddy mac caught his 17 1/2" hump back, and even managed to keep his lunch to himself this year. sam the country man caught his sea bass as well. bruce added to his fish count of the year with a keeper flattie off the grounds. pony tail tony and his partner keep 2 nice fluke, tony even won the pool with his 22 1/2" fish. this was not the big one however. as the old saying goes you have to pay to play, just ask adam he was the only one not in the pool and he caught a bute of a fish a fat 25". nice fish adam and your boy is a good fisherman he stayed with it all day. a long time friend of the bonanza II made the trip and his salem co champagne went well his stuffed long hots. thank you leon. big mike i put us on the meat today with his old grounds advice, the only draw back was their are a few less fish for him to catch. over all about 10 keeper flounder, apx. 18 keeper sea bass, and around 30 ling all made the 45mile trip back to fortescue. george, howard, bob and crew,ed and crew, and big jack thank you for a great day. thank you capt billy d for all your help. oh how can i forget. just look over the pictures and let someone know that either capt jack sparrow was here, or that guy from the captain morgan add was on the boat. again thank you all.

DAY FISHING

with all that has been said about day fishing it is starting to become very repetitive in what is happening. today monday the 4th, it was well the same. the flounder came over the rail and went back over the rail. their were a few blue fish that made the trip back to fortescue and 5 flounder decided to make the trip. father and son joe and mattie, (do not get upset matt you are bigger than me ) ended up with a 18" flounder and 3 blues. bill from new york met up with long time friend tom from pittsgrove n.j. for a day of fishing and caught his BIG flounder. way to catch that BIG flounder bill. then you have two long time fisherman of the bonanza II larry and johnny music. larry next time do not forget your orange juice. johnny all i can say is somethings do not change. it was nice to see both of you. teddy caught his 20" fluke and mr. hit the target harry adams won yet another pool with his 22" fluke that was the last keeper of the day.

DAN FISCHER TRIP

this charter was something to remember. on saturday the 3ed of august scooter, bret, and minnow (small fich ) held a fishing trip in remembrance of their dad dan. what a trip, the fishing was a tad bit slow but what lacked in fish was made up in spirit. with brothers in law mike, gary, and jimmy watching over things, scooter followed a family tradition and bit the head of the shark off. with that being done it was not long before the rest followed suite. all the time this is going on skip and tommy found their way into the dickle. wow was that a treat. the more dickle the better things turned out to be. buck, vern, and bill it was nice to speak with you and for all the information. to the rest of you, it was a blast. i look forward to the 2ed annual fishing trip for dan.
